Grove's logo, a large green oak tree with roots spreading below it

In 1922 In A Grove by RyÅ«nosuke Akutagawa was published, an unassuming but remarkable story that played with form and readers' perception. In 1950 Akira Kurasawa adapted it to the beautiful film Rashomon, mixing ancient theatrical tradition with modern techniques and groundbreaking innovations . Almost every director who has come after Kurasawa would cite this seminal work as inspiration.

We at Grove want to walk in those illustrious footsteps, to be unassuming but remarkable, to play with form and audience perception. To create things of beauty using traditional models, modern techniques and ground breaking innovation. We want to inspire a generation of people to create art that will resound down the ages.
